Programme

This isn't a fixed curriculum

You bring what’s happening in your career right now. We work through it together, you try something in the real world, then bring the result back the following week.

The programme adapts to the goals of your group, so you’re working on real situations — not made-up exercises or generic coursework.

1h Group Session

Online

Week 1

Meet the group and analyse what’s holding you back.

Share the career challenge you want to solve and where you want to get to. Before you start, we'll send you a form to place you in the right group. We’ll look at what’s happening now, what you’ve already tried and what may be missing.

Your first action might be: finding out how promotion works in your company, asking your manager what the next level requires, or gathering feedback you’ve already received.

Your goals help shape what we work on over the following three weeks.

Online

Week 2

Bring the real work or situation you're struggling with and get live feedback.

Bring something real: a project you’re struggling to get approved, a promotion case, portfolio story, stakeholder problem or feedback you don’t know how to act on.

We’ll work through it together and identify something specific to change, try or find out before the next session.

That might mean: rewriting how you explain your impact, finding the metrics behind a project, or speaking to your PM about taking on more responsibility.

Week 3

Practise before it matters.

Bring a conversation you need to have at work or in your job search and practise it before you have it for real.
It could be asking for a promotion, presenting a design decision, handling stakeholder pushback or answering a difficult interview question.

We’ll challenge your argument, role-play the response and help you communicate it more clearly and confidently.

Week 4

Turn feedback into your next move.

Come back with what happened. What worked? What didn’t? What are you still stuck on?

We’ll review your progress, solve what’s still getting in the way and decide what you should focus on next.

You’ll also prepare the biggest question you want to take into your private 1-to-1.

1h Personal Session

Online

1-2-1 mentorship

Use your private 1-to-1 to tackle your biggest career challenge with a mentor who already knows your work.

By now, I already know your goals, work and challenges — so you won't spend half the session explaining your background.

Use the hour where you need it most: build your promotion strategy, review your portfolio, prepare for an interview, work through a difficult situation or decide what you need to do to reach your next level.

You leave knowing what to do next.

Meet your mentor

Your design mom, Stacey

Stacey Nova • Lead Product Designer • Founder of PixelPerfect • Founder of Semiology Design Studio • Guest lecturer at LSE and Hult Business School • Webby Awards judge

Stacey is the founder of PixelPerfect and a Lead Product Designer who has worked with early-stage founders and global organisations including Mercedes-Benz, Novartis, the NHS, BP and Chanel.

She progressed to Senior Designer within three years, often working as the only designer in the room. That meant learning early how to explain design decisions to non-designers, get founders and leadership behind her recommendations, introduce better ways of working, and connect good design to what the business actually needs.

Since 2018, she has built products from 0→1, introduced design processes and systems into growing organisations, and mentored designers through their own career challenges. She has also lectured at LSE and Hult and serves as a Webby Awards judge.

Her biggest strength is communication: turning design thinking into language that founders, managers and stakeholders understand — and teaching other designers how to do the same.

"I've been the only designer, and the only woman, in the room."

"For much of my design career, I worked in teams where I had to learn how to advocate for design, explain my decisions to non-designers and get people to trust my recommendations.

The biggest change in my own career happened when I worked alongside much more experienced designers. I stopped second-guessing every decision. I learned how to present my work, communicate with stakeholders and operate with confidence when there wasn't another designer in the room.

Today I run PixelPerfect, a community built to give designers access to the kind of support, conversations and experienced people I wish I'd had earlier in my career.

Growth Lab for Women is my way of making that support much more personal.

I won't teach you how to design. I'll help you become more confident in the designer you already are — and make sure other people can see your value too."

This works better than a one-off mentoring session or a course

We don’t want to burden you with extra tasks and projects to do on top of your current responsibilities. We understand that your work takes priority and we are to help with it!

Q&A

This programme is for women in Product Design and UX/UI who already know how to design but want help with what comes next — becoming senior, having more influence, getting promoted or finding a better role.

No. It’s designed for designers who have a few years of experience and are thinking about their next step. You might be trying to become Senior, already be Senior and want more influence, or be considering leadership.

Yes. Bring the roles you’re applying for, interviews you’re preparing for, your portfolio or the feedback/rejections you’ve received. We’ll work out what’s holding you back and practise before the real interview.

Real things you’re dealing with right now: a promotion conversation, difficult stakeholder, presentation, portfolio, interview, case study, feedback from your manager, or a decision you’re struggling with.

You bring your questions and current challenges. We’ll review work, discuss what’s happening, practise conversations and decide what you should try next. You take that back to work, then come back the following week and tell us what happened.

Yes. The group is intentionally small so we can discuss individual situations and work. You’ll also finish with a private 1-to-1 focused entirely on you.

Because some career conversations are easier when you’re surrounded by women who’ve had similar experiences. This is a space to talk openly about progression, being heard, confidence, difficult workplace dynamics and figuring out what comes next.

“I’m the founder of PixelPerfect and a Product Designer who’s spent much of my career as the only designer, and always the only woman, in the room. I’ve had to learn how to defend my decisions, communicate with non-designers and earn trust without a senior designer beside me. I created Growth Lab to give other women the career support I wish I’d had.”

That’s the goal. Before the programme starts, we’ll ask about your experience and what you want to work on, then match you with women at a similar career stage and with compatible goals.

No. There are no generic weekly lessons to sit through. You bring what’s happening in your career and we work on it together. The programme adapts depending on what the group needs.

Growth Lab works best when you have something real to solve now:

  • An upcoming promotion conversation.
  • An interview you’re preparing for.
  • A project that’s getting pushback.
  • A new role where you need to establish credibility.
  • A career decision you don’t want to keep postponing.

We’ll record all our sessions and members get to keep the recording forever.

Pay → tell us about your goals → get matched with your group → choose an evening time → start the prgramme.
